A quick guide to the Reiki symbols

When Usui Reiki first started, Reiki symbols were only shared secretly and in class. But in the 1980s, they were shared publicly, and now, with the internet, they are all over the place and made available to everyone. Because of this, I only share them here now.

Reiki symbols are traditionally taught in the second and third levels of Usui Reiki and are used to enhance and direct the flow of healing energy during sessions. They have specific purposes:

  1. Cho Ku Rei (Power Symbol): This symbol amplifies the flow of energy. It's great for boosting overall healing energy, charging objects, or setting intentions.

  2. Sei He Ki (Mental/Emotional Symbol): When dealing with emotional issues, trauma, or mental blockages, Sei He Ki can help bring balance to the mind and emotions.

  3. Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen (Distance Healing Symbol): This symbol is perfect for sending healing energy across time and space. Use it for distant healing sessions or to send energy to past events.

  4. Dai Ko Myo (Master Symbol): When you want to work on your spiritual connection and personal growth, this symbol can be used to enhance your meditation, self-awareness, and enlightenment.

Your intuition as an experienced Reiki practitioner will guide you on when to use these symbols. Trust your instincts and the energy of each situation. Happy healing!
