Why I Choose to Teach Longer Reiki Classes
These days, it feels like everything is getting shorter—workshops, classes, even our attention spans. When it comes to Reiki, that’s no different. A lot of teachers are offering quick 1-3 hour classes to get folks certified fast, and while that might work for some, I’ve always believed Reiki deserves more time and attention. That’s why I take a different approach and teach longer, more in-depth classes—especially my Reiki Immersion, which is done entirely 1:1.
Reiki Is More Than a Quick Fix
Reiki isn’t something you can pick up in an afternoon and expect to fully understand. It’s a deep, subtle practice that takes time to really get into. When classes are rushed or abbreviated, there’s not enough time to absorb the knowledge or practice what you’re learning. Over the years, I’ve met students who have taken these quick courses and come away feeling unsure or overwhelmed, with more questions than answers.
Through teaching many classes myself, I’ve realized that my preferred method is to offer a slower, more comprehensive learning experience. My goal has always been to give my students the time and space they need to fully understand and connect with Reiki. The short, rushed, drive thru approach just doesn’t provide that.
The Importance of Hands-On Practice
Reiki is something you truly learn by doing. You’ve got to feel the energy, practice giving and receiving, and get comfortable with the process. But in those shorter classes, there’s simply not enough time for this essential hands-on experience.
In my Level 1 & 2 Reiki Immersion, we take our time with practice. You get to truly experience Reiki, not just learn about it. Whether it’s working on yourself or practicing on others, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to develop your skills. This way, when the class is over, you’ll feel confident in your ability to apply what you’ve learned.
What I love most about the 1:1 Immersion is that we work together, just the two of us. This allows for personalized feedback and focused practice. You’re not competing for time with other students so that we can dive deep into your experiences and questions. It’s this tailored approach that makes the Immersion so effective.
Reiki isn’t just a technique—it’s an experience, often bringing up emotions, thoughts, and deep healing. There’s no time to process any of this when you're in a rushed class. You don’t get the chance to reflect on what’s happening or ask those important questions that help you grow.
This is something I’ve learned firsthand from teaching many classes. Every student has their own journey, and it’s vital that they have the time and space to explore it fully. In the Reiki Immersion, we make sure to leave room for reflection, discussion, and support. You can take your time to process your experience, ask questions, and work through any challenges that arise.
With the 1:1 structure, there’s even more room to explore these deeper layers. It’s just you and me, so we can go at your pace, focus on your needs, and make sure every aspect of the class is tailored to you.
Honoring the Depth of Reiki
Reiki is a sacred practice, and I’ve always believed it deserves to be treated as such. It’s not something you can rush through in a few hours. By offering longer, more detailed classes, I’m giving Reiki the time and respect it needs. We’re not hurrying to cover material—we’re allowing it to unfold naturally.
Over the years of teaching, I’ve found that this slower, more mindful approach allows students to truly connect with the spiritual and energetic aspects of Reiki. With the Reiki Immersion, we honor the depth of the practice even more, as we spend multiple days together exploring not only the techniques but also the emotional, spiritual, and energetic layers that make Reiki so powerful.
Why I Created the Reiki Immersion
The Reiki Immersion came from my realization that many students need more than just a few hours of learning. They need time to truly practice, reflect, and integrate Reiki into their lives. In teaching countless classes, I noticed that students who had more time to explore the practice left feeling more confident and prepared. This is why the Immersion is designed as a longer, 1:1 experience.
In the Reiki Immersion, you’ll receive personalized instruction, ample practice time, and the space to dive deep into your unique Reiki journey. Whether you’re focusing on self-healing or want to work with others, the Immersion gives you everything you need to truly embody Reiki. This isn’t a one-size-fits-all class—it’s a fully immersive, individualized experience.
At the end of the day, my goal is to ensure that every student leaves my classes feeling confident and ready to incorporate Reiki into their lives. Whether for personal healing or to help others, I want you to feel fully prepared. That’s why I’ve moved away from rushed group classes in favor of longer, more immersive, and personal experiences.
The Reiki Immersion, in particular, is all about setting you up for success. It’s personalized, it’s comprehensive, and it gives you the time and space you need to truly master Reiki. You won’t leave with unanswered questions or doubts. Instead, you’ll walk away empowered, confident, and ready to integrate Reiki into your life in a meaningful and impactful way.
This teaching method has become my preferred approach over time. Through years of teaching and learning from my students, I’ve found that this longer, more intentional method really works. It honors the sacredness of Reiki, provides the hands-on experience necessary to grow, and sets students up for long-term success.
