Intuitive Tarot Reading: Beyond the Book- A Beginner's Course in Discovering Your Inner Wisdom

Available online or in-person

Do you have a Tarot deck tucked away somewhere with the hope that you will finally learn how to read it one day?

Or are you the collector? Do you have a bunch of decks, but none seem to ‘speak’ to you or resonate?

Maybe you have had a class or watched a video, but you still can’t get the hang of things.

I mean… there are 78 cards, and they each have a meaning, a keyword, symbols, and colors, don’t forget that the cards being upside-down take on a whole new set of meanings, oh, and those court cards! It can seem SO OVERWHELMING!

I get it!

I was right there with you until I let my intuition lead me, and I found that it made so much more sense to use my intuition to read the cards than the accompanying booklet.

Maybe you want to deepen your practice to develop your own personal, intuitive approach to the cards.

You don’t have to be intuitive to read the cards in this class, but this class will help you develop your intuition and trust it!

This is all about discovering your own ideas about what each card means and using the cards to frame and understand your own life, your experiences, and your choices.

This is not your typical Tarot class. In this series, you will learn this and more!

  • Get to Know Your Deck on a Personal Level
We’ll kick off by helping you connect with your deck in a way that feels right for you. We’ll even do a “deck interview” spread to get familiar with its unique energy and personality.

Reading Beyond the Symbols and Colors
Instead of focusing on memorization, you’ll learn how to read each card by interpreting the imagery, colors, and symbols, and noticing the feelings they evoke. Through creative exercises, you’ll gain the confidence to understand the cards in a way that’s intuitive and unique to you.

    Practice Hands-On Intuitive Techniques
Together, we’ll do simple 3-card spreads, exploring questions like "What should I focus on this month?" You’ll interpret each card based on your impressions and even try reading for others in a supportive setting.

Develop Personal Meanings for the Cards
We’ll dive into what each card means to you personally, beyond traditional definitions. This will give you a foundation to start trusting your intuition every time you pick up your deck.

You will learn how to read the cards confidently. I promise!

Do you have a group of 2-4 friends who want to learn to read the Tarot? Let me know, and I will put together a class, either online or in person.

Available Virtually on Zoom or in person.

What Students Are Saying

“Vickie's tarot classes have opened me up to a whole new world. I've always been drawn to tarot cards but have never found a book or person who could "really" help me learn them. Then I took Vickie's tarot class. She makes learning and reading tarot so easy and comfortable. After the class, I left feeling confident about reading tarot cards. I could hardly believe it! I highly recommend her as a teacher of tarot, and of all of the other subjects that she teaches.”

— Susan R.

“Vickie is amazing at teaching about Tarot because she teaches an intuitive approach, which strengthens your own intuition and connection to self and source. I wouldn't want to learn tarot from anyone else.”

 FAQs

  • A tarot deck follows a consistent structure of 78 cards, divided into the Major Arcana (22 cards) and Minor Arcana (56 cards), with universal themes and symbols that appear across different tarot decks. Each card generally holds a specific meaning that works within the tarot “language,” making it a deeper and more structured system to learn.

An oracle deck, on the other hand, doesn’t follow a set structure. The creator decides the number of cards and the themes covered. Oracle decks are often used for quick inspiration, guidance, or exploring specific topics, but they don’t follow the framework that gives tarot its depth and consistency. This workshop focuses on tarot because it allows for a richer, more intuitive journey over time.

  • Yes, you’ll need a tarot deck for this workshop, as we’ll be working hands-on with the cards. If you have one already, great! If not, keep reading for some recommendations to get started.

  • The Light Seer's Tarot is a great choice for beginners, with vibrant, modern imagery that’s easy to interpret intuitively. Another popular choice for those just starting out is the Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot deck, which many beginners find useful because of its straightforward symbolism. Both decks are widely available and easy to work with, especially for building a strong tarot foundation.

  • It’s a common myth that you need to be gifted your first tarot deck! While this tradition may hold meaning for some, you can absolutely choose and buy a deck that resonates with you. Tarot is about personal intuition, and selecting a deck that you feel drawn to can actually enhance your connection to it. So if there’s a deck you like, feel free to buy it yourself and start building that personal bond!.

  • Absolutely! This workshop is designed for complete beginners. We’ll start with the basics and build up gradually, focusing on connecting with the cards and your own intuition rather than memorizing meanings. By the end, you’ll feel comfortable doing readings for yourself and using tarot as a tool for self-discovery.

  • In this workshop, we focus on both! I’ll introduce you to traditional meanings, but you’ll also learn intuitive techniques that allow you to read tarot in a way that feels natural and personal. We’ll explore the symbols, colors, and stories in each card, helping you go beyond book definitions and trust your own insights.

  • Learning tarot can bring deeper self-awareness, clarity, and insight into different areas of your life. Many people find it helpful for self-reflection, decision-making, and personal growth. While tarot won’t tell you the future, it can help you gain perspective on present situations and guide you toward your highest path.

  • It’s understandable that some people may feel wary of tarot due to common misconceptions. However, tarot is not tied to any religion, dark arts, or magic. It’s simply a tool for self-reflection and personal insight. Tarot works by reflecting your inner thoughts and feelings through symbols and imagery, helping you gain clarity and understanding in a way that’s personal to you.

Think of tarot as a mirror—it doesn’t tell the future or control outcomes but rather helps you look deeper into yourself and find your own answers. Many people use tarot as part of their self-care, similar to journaling or meditation. I approach tarot in this way during my classes, with a focus on guidance, self-reflection, and empowering insights.

If you’re drawn to exploring tarot but feel nervous about others’ opinions, consider this workshop a safe space to learn without judgment or any pressure to commit to something long-term. Tarot is about connecting with your own intuition, and you can make it as spiritual or personal as feels right for you.

  • Tarot is not about predicting your future in a fixed, absolute way. It’s more about gaining insight into the present moment, reflecting on your current situation, and uncovering the possibilities and energies surrounding it. Tarot helps you connect with your own intuition, providing guidance that can support your decisions, actions, and personal growth.

While some people use tarot to look at future possibilities, it’s not about telling you exactly what will happen. Instead, it offers a lens to better understand where you are now and what you might need to focus on to move forward. Think of it like a tool for gaining clarity and perspective—like having a conversation with your own inner wisdom.
