Dive Into Intuitive Tarot Reading. Go Beyond the Book with My Beginner's 1:1 Workshop!

Have you ever felt drawn to tarot cards but didn’t know where to start? Maybe you’ve seen beautiful decks or heard about the insights tarot can bring, but the idea of memorizing all those meanings feels daunting. If that sounds familiar, then my upcoming workshop, 'Intuitive Tarot Reading: Beyond the Book', class was designed just for you!

This is a hands-on, beginner-friendly experience where you’ll go beyond reading from a guidebook and start tapping into your own inner guidance. You’ll leave with practical skills and confidence to use tarot in your life, plus a deeper understanding of how to use tarot for insight and self-reflection—no prior experience required.

What’s the Difference Between a Tarot Deck and an Oracle Deck?

In this workshop, we’ll be using tarot specifically, and if you’re new to the world of cards, you might wonder how tarot differs from other types of decks, like oracle cards. Here’s a quick overview!

What is a Tarot Deck?

A tarot deck is a structured deck that usually contains 78 cards divided into two main sections: the Major Arcana and the Minor Arcana. The Major Arcana consists of 22 cards that represent significant life themes and larger spiritual lessons (like The Fool, The Lovers, and The World). The Minor Arcana contains 56 cards that are divided into four suits (usually Cups, Wands, Swords, and Pentacles) and represent more day-to-day themes.

The tarot has a consistent structure, so regardless of the deck's artwork or theme, the cards maintain similar meanings and follow a shared framework. This structure is one of the reasons tarot is such a powerful tool—its layered symbolism allows you to tap into universal themes that resonate with almost anyone. Because of this consistency, tarot decks are perfect for beginners interested in learning a system with depth and symbolism.

What is an Oracle Deck?

Oracle decks, on the other hand, are generally freeform and don’t follow a specific structure. Oracle cards can vary widely in number and theme, with decks ranging from 30 to over 80 cards, each representing unique ideas, messages, or energies. Each oracle deck is designed by the creator with its own focus, and cards can cover topics from daily inspiration and self-love to animal guides or angel messages.

While oracle cards are fantastic for quick inspiration and specific themes, tarot is more like a “language” that you can learn to understand deeply over time, especially if you’re interested in developing your intuition.

This workshop is designed to help you start your journey with tarot specifically, helping you dive into its symbolism and structure so you can feel confident reading the cards for yourself.

What You’ll Learn in 'Intuitive Tarot Reading: Beyond the Book'

If you’re worried that tarot reading means memorizing complicated meanings, relax! This class is all about tapping into your natural intuition, using the cards as a mirror for self-reflection and insight. Instead of reading definitions, you’ll be guided to connect with the images, colors, and feelings that arise, making each reading personal and meaningful.

  • Hands-On Practice With Simple Spreads

The best way to learn tarot is by reading the cards! Together, we’ll walk through a few simple spreads, like the classic 3-card spread for past, present, and future. You’ll get real-time practice with support and guidance, so you’ll feel confident continuing on your own.

  • Connecting With Your Own Tarot Deck

In our workshop, you’ll bond with your own tarot deck through a “deck interview” exercise, learning how to connect to the deck’s energy so you can feel more comfortable reading with it. We’ll go over how to choose a deck if you don’t already have one, and some tips for caring for and cleansing your cards.

  • Understanding Symbols, Colors, and Stories

The imagery in the tarot is rich with meaning, and every color, symbol, and figure has a purpose. We’ll cover the basics of interpreting these symbols and noticing the small details that can bring a card to life. By the end, you’ll know how to rely on what you see and feel over what you “should” remember, making each reading more personal and enjoyable.
