Using Reiki to clear energy cords

Energy cords, also known as energetic cords or attachments, refer to the subtle connections that can form between individuals on an energetic level. These connections are thought to be formed through interactions and relationships and can influence the flow of energy between people. They can be positive or negative, depending on the nature of the relationship. As a Reiki practitioner, you might encounter these concepts in your practice.

Set Intentions: Clearly state your intention to cut any unhealthy or draining energy cords that may be attached to you or others.

  1. Prepare: Find a quiet and comfortable space where you won't be disturbed. You can play soothing music or use incense if it helps you relax.

  2. Ground Yourself: Take a few deep breaths and visualize roots extending from your feet into the Earth, grounding you.

  3. Use Reiki Symbols: If you're attuned to Reiki symbols, draw or visualize them. The Power Symbol (Cho Ku Rei) can amplify the energy, and the Mental/Emotional Symbol (Sei Hei Ki) can assist in releasing negative emotions.

  4. Visualize Cords: Imagine the energy cords as actual cords or connections attaching you to others or situations. They might appear as ropes, chains, or threads.

  5. Call on Reiki: Begin channeling Reiki energy through your hands, focusing on the intention to sever the cords. Feel the healing energy flowing.

  6. Cutting Motion: Use your hands or visualize a tool (like scissors or a sword) to cut the cords one by one. I like seeing them dissolve; it feels gentler…but that’s me! As you do this, feel the release of any unwanted energy.

  7. Healing Light: Send healing light and love to the areas where the cords were attached. Imagine them filling with positive energy.

  8. Seal and Protect: Visualize a protective barrier around you to prevent the cords from reattaching. You can also use the Distant Symbol to send healing to the past, healing any residual connections.

  9. Thankful Release: Express gratitude for the lessons and experiences gained from these connections, even if they were challenging.

  10. Self-Healing: Finish by giving yourself a Reiki self-treatment to cleanse and balance your own energy.

  11. Stay Mindful: Remember that energetic hygiene is ongoing. Regular self-care and energy-cleansing practices are important.

Remember, intention is key, and trust your intuition throughout the process. Each person's experience may be slightly different, so find what works best for you.
